My Story
My story begins in 1993, when during my first year in Medical school I remember spending more time with books on psychology and personal development than my medical books. I recall remarks from friends about my creativity, passion for listening to people and a desire to bring about change. I continued to pursue my studies despite my intuition telling me that my heart lay elsewhere. In retrospect, I suspected I was fulfilling my parents’ dreams. I did well at medical school and completed my post graduation in Obstetrics and Gynaecology. I was happy working in the Health Service but always longed for further challenge in my work. I had a drive to make a positive contribution to people’s lives that ushered me towards the big decision to refocus my career path.
My quest for working towards my passion began after the birth of my second daughter. I knew that I wanted to do something I feel passionate about and that would make a difference to other people’s lives. I found myself on my maternity break, looking for a vocation to make a difference. A dear friend introduced me to a career in life coaching and the potential it contained to fulfill this need. I obtained a certificate in life coaching from the premier coaching academy in London. I read books on coaching, coached myself and during my endeavour, noticed amazing changes in my own life. I became a calmer and more patient person, learnt to relax again and as I started spending more quality time with my family, my relationships flourished. I was able to spend more time on my hobbies and started to love myself. I could see this was the beginning of a lifetime journey on the path of self-realisation and I didn’t need to know how it would unfold along the way.
I knew I had found a clear purpose in my life. I was so excited and determined that I continued with my training in coaching, despite all my family’s views against it. It was perceived as crazy to leave a successful medical career after postgraduate education. However, I handled my fears and limiting beliefs with support from my own professional coach and emerged a stronger person. I recognised the ‘Real Me’ - capable of achieving anything I want to. This even more, helped me to realise the power of coaching.
Since then, I have never looked back. I qualified as a personal performance and corporate coach with Distinction and started working towards my passion. I established my company, with a mission to help people on their journey of self-discovery. I can see how my own dreams have come true and that I can make a difference to my clients’ lives by helping them achieve excellence in every aspect of their lives.
I coach my clients to aim for the sky and support them to never give up on their dreams. I believe that all individuals possess huge potential to resolve their own issues and can achieve anything they decide to. It’s wonderful and rewarding to hear from my clients how coaching has completely transformed their life and business for good. |
